Nothing ruins a vacation quicker than a swarm of hungry mosquitos. But, with Bandito, you can wade knee deep into the rivers of the Amazon and never have to worry about being bit again. This mosquito-blocking wristband is one of the easiest and most effective ways of warding off the pesky bug.

The wristband combines a non-toxic scent with sonic sounds to create a two-prong assault on the mosquitoes’ senses. The non-toxic scent strips are made with three main ingredients — citronella, peppermint and lemongrass. While these smells are positively delightful for the human nose, they’re the most effective way to send mosquitoes running for the hills. Bandito also emits a sonic sound that’s nearly invisible to a human ear, but cringe inducing to blood-sucking bugs.

Admittedly, it’s not the most fashionable device around, but it’s small enough to make it inconspicuous. If you’re not comfortable having it on your wrist, the Bandito also comes with a clip so you can easily attach it to your backpack or waist. If you’re constantly on the go you don’t have to worry about running out of juice — each Bandito comes with 12 refills and lasts for three months at a time. They’re perfect for long-term backpack trips through tropical regions.

The Bandito is set to retail for $35 each with first shipments expected in August 2018. Check out the website for more information on features and ways to order.

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.
