When swimming in the warm, crystal clear waters of Hawai’i or the Florida Keys, it may not be a thought you are swimming along. Marine life and coral reefs feel the consequences of tourists jumping into the oceans with thousands of chemicals on their bodies. One of the biggest culprits of this mass pollution is sunscreen. Here are some reef-safe sunscreens you can purchase the next time you go on a tropical getaway.

Thinksport

For only $12 on Amazon, Thinksport SPF 50 can be the product you swap for the chemically toxic sunscreen damaging our oceans. The product is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes and received a perfect score on EWG.

All Good SPF 30

The All Good sunscreen is a lightweight, non-nano, zinc oxide-based lotion stamped as reef friendly. The sport selection contains organic green tea, rose hips and buriti oil to keep skin protected but also hydrated. You can purchase this lotion for $15.99

Suntegrity

The vegan, non-greasy, unscented formula of Suntegrity makes a good lotion for babies, kids and adults who may have skin sensitivity. Containing 20 percent non-nano, uncoated zinc oxide, the sunscreen protects against harmful UVA and UVB rays. This reef safe product sells for $24.
