Travelers who hit the skies multiple times per week or who connect two or more times per flight can find travel utterly exhausting. It’s no wonder people tuck away into the corners of airports for naps next to their luggage. Some airports even installed nap pods for weary travelers who need to catch a few winks before their next flight. A new mobile app takes the idea of a sleep pod out into the streets of your destination.

Recharge is a new luxury accommodation app that lets users book nearby hotel rooms by the minute or hour, with last-minute and same-day availability. Craving a power nap before your next business meeting, but your hotel is on the other side of town? Need to freshen up after a long day at work but don’t have time to run home for a shower? Open the app, find the nearest participating hotel and book a room in seconds. The billing cycle begins upon check-in at the hotel, with rates ranging from 83 cents to $2 per minute.

Guests can enjoy access to hotels with nightly rates that may be out of their budget range. Hotels benefit, too, as most of their rooms are unoccupied after check-out and before check-in.

Conceived and introduced in San Francisco in 2016, Recharge is now also available in 16 luxury Manhattan hotels.

United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.

How to Explore Neuschwanstein Castle

Most people know Neuschwanstein Castle as Walt Disney’s inspiration for both Cinderella’s and Sleeping Beauty’s castles, but it is also filled with history and stories from German royalty. In 1868, King Ludwig II began construction of the medieval-style castle to live in. Sadly, it wasn’t finished before he died, so the king never got to see the finished product. Today, the castle is privately owned, but travelers can still explore it on a guided audio tour.
