Digital media and commerce company Brit + Co teamed up with Target on a line of DIY kits, sold exclusively at Target. Brit + Co pulled data from their online tutorials and social media channels to analyze top DIY projects and trends. This translated into 10 different kits at a budget-friendly price of $19.99–24.99.

Projects are designed to be easy enough for a beginner DIY-er, so any shopper can purchase each kit. Every kit comes with all of the necessary tools and materials to complete a project, while some have enough to make multiple products. The following kits are available:

  • Metal Stamp a Necklace: Learn jewelry-making basics. Material for two necklaces comes in each kit.
  • Gold Foil Tote: Deck out a plain tote with designs of shiny gold foil.
  • Weave a Necklace: Combine metals and soft textiles to create a unique statement necklace.
  • Clay Jewelry Dish: Make up to four marbled jewelry trays with gold edges.
  • Wood Burned Cutting Board: Create a customized wood serving platter in an hour.
  • Make a Macramé Planter: Receive all materials needed for making a hanging macramé planter.
  • Embroider a Leather Cuff: Embroider a leather cuff with colorful thread. Material for two cuffs comes in each kit.
  • Embroider a Wall Hanging: Learn embroidery basics to create a wall hanging with a design from the Brit + Co book, or one of your own.
  • Weave a Wall Hanging: Use three bright colors of yarn to weave a wall hanging.
  • Knit a Scarf: Perfect for beginners or experts, knit your own chunky scarf.

Each kit also comes with a gift card for a free online class from Brit + Co. Classes typically cost $29 on average. Browse the kits online or in the store nearest you.

How to Explore Neuschwanstein Castle

Most people know Neuschwanstein Castle as Walt Disney’s inspiration for both Cinderella’s and Sleeping Beauty’s castles, but it is also filled with history and stories from German royalty. In 1868, King Ludwig II began construction of the medieval-style castle to live in. Sadly, it wasn’t finished before he died, so the king never got to see the finished product. Today, the castle is privately owned, but travelers can still explore it on a guided audio tour.
