Langly Field Jacket

The Langly Field Jacket was specifically made for the nomadic travel writer and photographer. The three-layer, versatile design is stylish while still providing protection from the elements and the same designer behind durable Langly photography bags created the new jacket.

“Langly bags were inspired by the lives of freelance photographers and nomadic professionals looking for something to protect their gear with style and ease. After years of searching for the perfect camera bag with no avail, I decided to take things into my own hands and Langly Bags were born. Today Langly bags have been worn on all seven continents by amateurs and professionals alike,” said Langly founder Evan Lane.

Available on Kickstarter, the jackets are modeled after the M-65 field jacket, originally developed by the military to function in any climate. This incredibly utilitarian design keeps one cool during heat, warm during the cold and dry in any kind of precipitation.

Langly developed its own proprietary weather-shield technology to combat moisture and wind, while still allowing for a breathable fabric. Every seam is tape-sealed, similar to a weather-proof tent, to ensure complete weather resistance.

The jacket features snap-flap pockets with multiple reinforcements and an adjustable hood and cuff. The pockets are designed with the travel photographer and writer in mind, allowing for both easy access,and security. Pass-through channels route headphones and battery chargers from the exterior to interior upper pockets. Pockets are also lined with RFID-blocking material.
