The average traveler has about 1 billion photos saved on his or her smartphone or memory card, some of which will never see the bright lights of Instagram or Facebook. What if there was a way to edit, save and possibly even sell these photos to make money for your next adventure?
Enter Foap, a free mobile app that lets amateur photographers create a profile, upload photos and develop an online marketplace for sellable photography. Businesses can spend hours searching the Internet for the perfect stock photo or they can hop on Foap to peruse travelers who are snapping photos all over the world and making them instantly ready for purchase.
To sign up for Foap, smartphone users simply download the app for free, create a profile and begin to upload existing photos from the camera roll. Photographs cost $10 to purchase, of which the photographer receives $5. There is also an online community for Foap users to share photographs as well as travel and photography tips with other amateur or professional photographers.
Some major name brands that have relied on Foap to capture amazing images for products include MasterCard, Garnier, Heineken, Axe and Volvo, among others.
