Marco Polo App
There’s a new app some experts say is poised to boot Snapchat from its top spot. The so-called Marco Polo app is designed to help your phone function as a walkie talkie — with video capabilities.
The app lets you send quick messages back and forth to contacts, and the messages are designed to be just a few seconds long — like Snapchat’s. However, the app also saves your videos so you can essentially build a running conversation with friends.
Marco Polo’s mission is “to help people feel close no matter the distance, enabling people to remain connected in convenient and meaningful ways” and, by most accounts, it seems to be succeeding at that.
The app has been around for more than a year but it’s only now starting to really catch on. And it doesn’t seem like it’s just for teenage users; entire families enjoy sending notes and videos back and forth.
The app is easy to use and has a few fun customizable options, like the ability to add filters that alter the appearance of a photo or video. You can also draw on your videos and add text. There’s also the option to text when you aren’t able to send a video or prefer not to.
Overall, it’s an easy and fun app, and one that may well overtake Snapchat in popularity.
