Sick and tired of your regular gym routine? Switch up your workout schedule with POPiN. The fitness app functions on a pay-for-what-you-use model.
Here’s how it works: Sign up for the app and search for a premium, membership-only gym near you. Scan the code on your app when you arrive at the gym. Once you’ve completed your workout, check out at the front desk to only pay for the time you use. No reservations are needed.
The pay-as-you-go service launched summer 2017. The service is currently available in New York City, with plans to expand to other metro areas, including the West Coast, within the coming year. The service is ideal for anyone with a hectic schedule, interested in a quick workout without a monthly commitment to a gym or health club. Unlike class-based systems, there are no penalties for cancellations or missed gym time.
Download the app on the App Store or Google Play. The app is free to download. Users pay per minute, with an average cost of 15–26 cents per minute. Payment is automatic.
