Since the invention of the automobile, drivers have been losing their keys. Or, for those traveling to foreign places, wallets, passports, purses, traveler’s checks and luggage are all essential items that can causes nightmares if misplaced. To aid in the prevention of lost valuables, here’s a solution: The Treasure Tag.

The Treasure Tag (starting at $29.98) is an electronic device that can be attached to most accessories. Then, with the Nokia Treasure Tag app, users are alerted when the valuable leaves the 40-meter (131 foot) range of the Bluetooth 4.0 signal. The app also features a map displaying where the valuable was when the user moved out of range. The device also works conversely, allowing users to simply press a button on the treasure tag, ringing the lost smartphone. While the Treasure Tag is designed specifically to work in conjunction with Nokia products, it can also work with most newer Android and Apples smartphones and tablets as well. Each tag weighs a mere 13 grams and are made from an environmentally friendly, non-PVC, non-BFR material. The tags have a battery life of up to six months.
