Stuck with empty suitcases on your floor and no idea how to start packing? You could make a pen-and-paper or SmartPhone notepad list from scratch, or you could use the assistance of the Universal Packing List.
The handy website lets you plug in your dates of travel, the local forecast, your lodging (hotel, campsite, etc.) and your destination. A pre-suggested list is then generated to aid in your packing duties. The form also lets you indicate in which activities you may participate on your vacation (e.g., hiking, skiing, beach trips), as well as the size of your luggage.
To make your packing task even easier, once your list populates, it is categorized into clothing, documents, toiletries, electronics and even a to-do list that reminds you to update your passport, wash your clothes or receive necessary immunizations before you depart.
If you mark that you will be traveling by boat or plane, especially on a long journey, it suggests you toss motion sickness pills and sleep aids into your luggage. Once your list is complete, you can print it, e-mail it or go directly to Amazon.com to purchase any items that you still need.
Packing doesn’t get easier than with the Universal Packing List. Or does it? The site also features a currency converter and car-hire capabilities so you can have a vehicle waiting for you when you arrive. So stop procrastinating and start packing!
