Not sure what to read? Want to read something a little more … intellectual … than the latest chick lit on the best sellers list? Or maybe you just don’t want to be bothered with combing through the bookstore for a good purchase?
If any of the above sounds like you, Quarterlane Books could be exactly what you need. Every three months, the brand curates a collection of the best books of the season to, as they say, “speak to your soul.”
So, how does it work? Choose the subscription that matches your needs (the only real differences are the length of your subscription). Then, wait for the adorable Quarterlane box to show up on your doorstep in its crisp white exterior, trimmed neatly with a classy gray bow. Plus, you’ll also receive seasonal takeaways and custom artwork created by the Quarterlane artist in residence.
What kind of fiction reads can you expect? The Fall 2017 box, shipped out in late September, included Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, What We Lose by Zinzi Clemmons and The Ready Made Thief by Augustus Rose. A pocket diary and artwork were also included. If you’re not familiar with the included works, be assured all will make you think about issues we can relate to in some way or another, whether it be topics of race, community, motherhood or family. However, don’t think these chosen tales are dry or without a little fun. The latest from Augustus Rose is plenty captivating, as a part-detective novel and part-thriller.
Single boxes are $105, though the price does, of course, lower with an actual subscription.
If you have all your own reading sorted, but would like to cultivate the mind of a younger reader, Quarterlane also offers a children’s subscription. These subscriptions are split by gender and age group, for 6 years of age all the way up to 12. Plus, the brand offers children’s collections such as Baby’s First Library. Children’s single boxes are $60 each.
