While some people see camping as an opportunity to go off-grid, some of us like to enjoy the great outdoors with our human comforts.
The team at Revel Gear fall firmly into that second camp, and have put their heads together to come up with a product that makes it possible. They have made a Night Owl solar pack and a Revel Light to address our need for power and light in the backcountry.
The Night Owl charges after just a few hours in the sun and can provide 10,000 mAh of power through two USB ports. This is enough to keep your camera, smartphone and portable speakers online throughout even the longest night. In fact Revel say the Night Owl packs enough power to charge a smartphone up to five times.
You can charge your devices anywhere, and the battery pack folds up into a conveniently small package. There is even a protective case that doubles as an attachment point for when you want to position the Night Owl in the sun.
When it comes to providing some illumination, the Revel Light is an impressive option. A 30-foot string of LED diodes that comes in seven different colors, the waterproof lights are perfect for throwing some light on your camp.
Storage is made easy thanks to a specially designed spool, and the lights are powered via USB.
The products were part of a successful Kickstarter campaign, and will go on sale early next year. The Night Owl will retail for $130 and the Revel Light will cost $100.
