Avid travelers don’t have time to clean pesky piles of sand from their beach towels when skipping around the world. That’s why the Sandless Beach Mat is such a great idea.
Originally developed for military use, a sandless beach mat is the perfect tool for travelers who spend a lot of time at the beach. The nearly microscopic holes in the mat make sand slip right through, keeping both you and your belongings free of the stuff. When you’re ready to pack it away you won’t have to worry at all about particles of sand getting into your bag and onto your clean clothes.
The mat, made by Hammacher Schlemmer, is comprised of dual layers of woven polyurethane fabric that works to filter out the sand. It’s comfortable to lie on and easy to carry while also resistant to scratches and tears. The edges of the mat are bound and won’t easily fold up or blow in the wind. It also comes equipped with metal d-rings to accommodate stakes to help you keep it pegged to the ground. It works well at the beach or in your backyard. The fabric is also resistant to water, so it won’t stay damp or collect mold, making it one of the cleanest beach mats out there.
The mat is available in two- or four-person varieties online.
