No one wants to lose their stuff on the road, and waist packs like the ZIP are a great way to keep important documents and money out of sight.

While money belts have been around for years, the ZIP brings some new features suited to the changing realities of contemporary travel. Perhaps the most important is the RFID-blocking material, which stops your cards from being read by portable readers.

There is room for your passport, cellphone, boarding pass, bank cards, cash and other documents. There is also an expansion zipper, so you can pack more stuff if and when you need to in the larger hip pack. This is great for when you’re out for the day and you want to keep larger items, such as hand sanitizer or sun cream, close to hand.

Thanks to premium materials and great design values, the ZIP looks like a great way to keep your things safe from sticky fingers. It’s time to upgrade from the flimsy money belts of the past, and get something that will protect your cards from high-tech crime.

The ZIP will retail for $25 following a Kickstarter campaign. Backers will receive belts by March 2018.

What to Do During a Trip to Morro Bay, California

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.
