Asheville, North Carolina’s, progressive attitude has given rise to an influx of foreign residents and, with them, a stunning array of phenomenal restaurants. Cúrate is one such example of exquisite cuisine. This stylish and quirky Spanish eatery packs a load of taste in small samples and is one of the best options in town.
I was able to grab a seat at the bar, where guests are encouraged to watch the kitchen put together the wide array of tapas plates available. The staff was incredibly friendly and chatting, always willing to answer questions and make small talk when free. The design is the perfect combination of rustic and modern and provides a warm atmosphere.
The food was incredible. Each tapas plate we sampled was perfect, while the pincho moruno — lamb skewers in Moorish sauces — were mouthwatering. We also shared a torched chocolate ganache at the end of the meal that would be worth a second trip alone. I was truly delighted to find such a place in a mountain town in North Carolina.
Cúrate has a reputation for being booked weeks in advance. We were lucky enough to grab a table on a Thursday evening, but be sure to call ahead to be safe. Also, make sure your wallet is full as the prices are a little steep. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
