Reviews / Hotel

The Finca Lérida Coffee Plantation & Boutique Hotel resides in the town of Boquete, one of Panama’s best destinations for nature lovers. The plantation is surrounded on all sides by lush hillsides and mountains that contain a wealth of plant and animal life. It’s here you’ll also find the popular Barú Volcano National Park.

Finca Lérida was once the region’s most prominent coffee plantation before turning into an eco-lodge. Though they still offer coffee tours on the premises, it’s also now a favorite destination for intrepid visitors who want to experience the rich outdoor tapestry Panama has to offer. The Sendero Los Quetzales is easily the greatest hike in the park while the Río Chiriquí offers some of the best rafting opportunities in the country. The scenery alone makes it well worth a visit.

The hotel itself offers numerous amenities. All of the rooms are located on the ground floor and provide stunning views overlooking the property and mountain vistas. Inside you’ll find comfortable beds, private baths and even a common room with a fireplace. It’s a great place to settle after a long day and meet some of the other guests. There’s also a second building that serves as the main house, which holds older rooms but an excellent library.

In addition to the coffee plantation itself, you’ll also find beautiful gardens on the premises along with a restaurant. Monniche Restaurant serves international food as well as traditional local dishes. The menu was a little pricey, but the food was great. The coffee was, of course, extraordinary. The staff was also exemplary and happy to make suggestions for places to visit in and outside of town.

I would highly recommend a stay at Finca Lérida Coffee Plantation to any of my friends.
