For the last four years, my family and I have vacationed to the beautiful Dutch Caribbean island, Aruba. With the island’s warm, sunny weather, white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, it’s no surprise this is a family favorite destination. Every year, we stay at a different resort along the northwestern beach, and this year we chose the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. The Marriott Stellaris is the perfect resort for the ultimate Aruba vacation.
My family and I flew United Airlines from Newark (EWR) to Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) and arrived in Aruba around 11 a.m. Check-in went smoothly, as we were staying in the Tradewinds Club and were able to skip the long line downstairs and continue the process in the club lounge.
The Tradewinds Club is an upscale hotel-within-a-hotel concept on the top floor of the hotel. This exclusive collection of 41 deluxe guestrooms and eight lavish suites promise the finest and most lavish resort amenities for guests 18 years or older. Enjoy luxury amenities and spend time relaxing by the adult-exclusive pool with a poolside bar and pool cabana, the Mandara Spa;, member-only beach access and many more pleasures and perks. The Marriott treats Tradewinds guests to the taste of the Caribbean in the club lounge, with breakfast, lunch, a light afternoon tea, “Discovery Hour” featuring cocktails and cuisine from on-site restaurants and cheese and pastries served daily.
My parents stayed in one of the four Tradewinds Governor’s Suite, wh located on the ocean-side corners of the resort with a large balcony with stunning ocean views. The suite offers upscale amenities such as a complimentary palapa for daily beach use. The suite features a separate four-post bed, two large bathrooms — one connected to the bedroom offering an ocean view, bathtub, large shower, rain-style showerhead, dual sink and a separate toilet while the second offers an oversize shower, separate toilet and dual sinks — a living room with an oversized HD LCD screen TV and a wrap-around balcony.
The rest of us stayed in ocean-front Tradewinds guestrooms, with ocean-front views of the turquoise Aruban waters. The 625-square-foot room featured one king-sized bed, a walk-in closet, dual sink and 200-square-foot outdoor balcony.
The hotel staff accommodated our every last need, whether it was changing dinner reservations, helping us to reserve the poolside cabana for the day or rescanning our room key that was demagnetized — many times. During the day, we spent our time rotating between the H2Oasis adult-only pool and on the beach under the palapa.
