Flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on a clear day is a memorable experience. Volcanoes crest the clouds and islands are visible as you land.

The airport itself is continually in a state of improvement, from the security check-in process to the restaurants on offer. New local chefs and restaurateurs are frequently added to the roster to further enhance the experience and give visitors a taste of something local. Convenient maps at main terminal areas can help guests determine where these places are located, and what else is available at each terminal.

Airport staff is generally friendly and helpful, and the airport seems to respond to busy times well by adding additional staff to help guide visitors to less busy security check points or through customs screening areas.

The airport is often adorned with local art and small historical exhibits, and occasionally local musicians are hired to perform. Around holiday time — when travel is most stressful and airports are at their busiest — Sea-Tac brings in performers who dress as Santa Claus, ride unicycles while juggling or otherwise entertain.

The airport also has an extensive recycling system, and has taken numerous steps to respect the environment. Bees are raised on site, for example, and there are strict rules governing the fuel efficiency of ground transportation vehicles, including those driven for Uber and Lyft.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
