Our flight into Lisbon was delayed and we arrived, tired, to the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade just ahead of check-in. Thankfully, our rooms were ready and we didn’t need to wait any longer to begin our vacation. We were given a voucher for a free welcome drink at the hotel bar along with our room keys and a map of the area.
Our room on the fourth floor had standard guestroom amenities, as well as complimentary WiFi. The bathroom had a rainfall shower, which I enjoy. Unfortunately, the hot water never got very hot. Our travel companions said their shower water had the opposite problem of being too hot. The room itself was rather small, but we spent most of our time exploring the city, so it was fine for our needs. The television was easy to operate. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed turn-down service each night of our stay and housekeeping was superb overall.
The property features a fitness center, restaurant and bar, though we only utilized the bar during our visit. The bartenders were friendly, offering us suggestions of nearby places to explore. My husband felt under the weather during our last day, and stayed in the room in the morning. He ordered room service for breakfast and was impressed by the service.
The Sofitel’s convenient location on Avenida da Liberdade was ideal for walking to the city’s various neighborhoods and using public transportation. I would highly recommend the property to anyone traveling to Lisbon for business or leisure.
