Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills recently hosted the annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards event for Global Traveler, our sister publication, offering me a second stay with the hotel. My room wasn’t quite ready when I arrived so the reception desk graciously offered to hold my bag as I went out for lunch with colleagues.

When we got back I was able to get up to my eighth-floor room, which, on a clearer day, would have provided a nice view of the Hollywood sign.

My king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable and crazy soft with plush bedding and pillows to match. The room was perfect for one or two people with the enormous bed, spacious desk and ample closet space — perfect for my quick two-night stay.

Although my second stay with the Sofitel, I did have some trouble remembering how to get to the gym and pool area. The pool is on a deck, but not the top floor and the fitness center is around the corner of the spa. Both beautiful and useful once I actually remembered where they were.

We enjoyed a great Leisure Lifestyle Awards event —only my second, but easily my favorite — and quickly packed up for our red-eye flight back to the East Coast.
