The Warbler is located in Chicago’s Lincoln Square, a place known for being a neighborhood within a neighborhood on Chicago’s far North side. Though it is a little bit of a trek to reach this mini-neighborhood, it is worth it for its charm and coziness.
The Warbler opened in January 2018 and, if you find yourself looking for a dinner spot in this area, look no further. Despite the fact there are a number of excellent options to choose from, The Warbler should be tried at least once for its dessert alone.
Located at 4535 N. Lincoln Ave., the restaurant has an understated elegance that does not outshine its menu. The food consists of familiar family recipes with a fresh take, like the baked mussels or Korean-style chicken wings as an appetizer, or the lolla rossa salad with strawberries and snap peas. There are just as many vegetarian options as meat, if not more.
As an entrée, choose from a selection of flatbreads like roasted mushroom or carne asada, or opt for the roasted half chicken or crispy falafel. Whatever you do, though, definitely get the skillet cookie for dessert. Just don’t leave without eating it, you will not regret it.
