Tips / Travel

The diversity of America is one of the great reasons to love the country, but the variety of food available and celebrated comes in at a close second. What better way to celebrate the culinary spectrum of the United States than by road tripping around the country and attending food and wine festivals? See below for four of the nation’s best.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival

While the rest of the country begins to freeze as the winter season looms, Miami stays bright and sunny for its annual wine and food festival each February. Avoid winter’s chill by soaking up a few more days of warmth and sampling some of the region’s best grub from local chefs, wineries and breweries.

Taste of Chicago

Guinness World Record fiends must head to Chicago for not only America’s biggest food festival, but also the world’s. In July, pass through the Windy City to sample Chicago-style pizza and cheesecake along with 2 million other foodies.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Save money on expensive plane tickets to Europe or Asia, and visit Orlando, Fla., instead. For six weeks, Walt Disney World’s Epcot park serves food and wine from more than 25 countries, and also hosts cooking classes and wine tastings for park-goers who have a bit of wanderlust.

New Orleans Wine & Food Experience

Looking to eat well and do a bit of good for others? This May will mark this festival’s 25th year of serving international food and drinks to its attendees while also giving part of its proceeds to local causes.
