Tips / Travel

With the influx of alternatives to hotels, there are now more options than ever for choosing where to stay on vacation. However, not all options are the best for your needs. Follow our tips for picking the best lodging for your next vacation.

Short-Term Rental
Services like Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway offer short-term vacation rental opportunities. If you like to feel at home while traveling and hotel-style amenities aren’t a high priority, book this type of stay. You can find some interesting options like treehouses and airstream trailers for a unique experience.

All-Inclusive Resort
For anyone looking for relaxation, try an all-inclusive resort. These properties offer plenty of on-site activities as well as off-site excursions and food and beverage options. This is ideal for anyone who would prefer the property does most of the trip planning.

Bed and Breakfast
If you enjoy a more personal experience, consider a bed and breakfast. Perfect for a friendly traveler, the hosts often enjoy spending time with lodgers and will usually cater breakfast options based on dietary preferences.

Hostel
Hostels are ideal for younger travelers, especially those who don’t mind sharing space with other travelers. If you don’t plan on spending much time at the lodging, it’s a great way to spend less money than a pricier hotel.

Hotel
If none of these options appeal to you, stick with a stay at a reliable hotel.
