Cable TV is slowly becoming a thing of the past, as streaming services increase in popularity. Netflix, and services of the like, solve a majority of our film- and TV-loving problems — granted it does have a few kinks of its own.
Netflix is simple. It’s easy to queue up a movie on your laptop, video game console or mobile device in order to watch it in a matter of seconds.
With Netflix usually comes indecisiveness. Everyone’s been there, sitting and scrolling through the catalog of thousands of hours of content until you’ve finally chosen something you semi want to watch. Next time you’re unsure of what to watch, check out What Is On Netflix? The site is a one-stop website that sorts through the top-rated movies, documentaries and television shows based on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB rankings. It doesn’t have much depth, but still provides overwhelmed users some relief.
There is also another site created called Flix Roulette that sorts through movies and shows. You can narrow down your search through filters before you spin. Unlike What Is On Netflix?, the site isn’t separated by quality content, so there’s a chance you’ll end up with a random movie you’ve never heard of.
Then there’s FlickrSurfer with the same idea but a different layout. The advantage to this site is that the movie and TV posters are prominently displayed, triggering a reminder for a user that they wanted to watch something but forgot. But once again, this site doesn’t sort by quality.
Add a new AllFix Chrome extension that will add a randomize button to your browser. Click the control and watch whatever show or film is suggested. While it may be risky, you could end up discovering hidden gold.
Be sure to add Rotten Tomatoes ratings to your searches. Use Chrome plugin Netflix Enhancement Suite, which adds RT ratings to Netflix listings alongside a mass of additional information including IMDB facts and official trailers.
If you’re still unhappy with your movie selection, here are other sites to choose from.
