A lot of travelers stress out about which vaccinations are needed when heading overseas and plenty of them overdo it. While it’s always great to be cautious, different areas call for different vaccines. Here are a few you can probably skip on your next trip, unless you plan on heading really, really far off the beaten path.*
Typhoid
Typhoid is a serious illness, but only the truly adventurous eaters are really at risk of contracting it. Even then, this is something you only need to be concerned with when traveling to remote areas of Asia and Africa.
Rabies
Unless you plan on coming into close contact with numerous wild animals on your travels, it’s probably okay to pass on a rabies update. Granted, they’re recommended and are often included in your routine immunizations updates, but unless you plan on playing with raccoons while you’re in Europe you should be good to go.
Japanese Encephalitis
Japanese Encephalitis is rarely seen in travelers and is only a danger for those traveling to very rural areas. It’s mostly only recommended for tourists in Asia, though it’s unlikely you’ll be anywhere long enough to be at risk.
Yellow Fever
Let’s be clear: There are some countries which absolutely require a yellow fever vaccination before they’ll even let you in. They’re no getting around that. However, if the yellow fever vaccination isn’t required to get into the country, that’s because you probably don’t need it.
*Trazee Travel recommends travelers always consult with health care providers before travel to locations where vaccines are recommended.
