Long lines, security checks and then even more long lines: By the time travelers find their seat on an airplane, the air within can be quite tense. Even for the most seasoned traveler, in-flight etiquette can easily be forgotten especially if the circumstances become unruly and unpredictable. Consider the tips below when keeping cool on your next flight.
Keep your seat up. When meals are served, during takeoff and during landing, follow the flight attendants´ instructions and keep your seat in the upright position. Even if you finish your meal early, wait until the trays have been collected before reclining for a post-meal rest.
Consider your snacks. If the in-flight food isn´t enough, a lot of passengers pack snacks. Try not to bring anything too odorous or that may cause bad breath, such as garlic-heavy dishes or fish.
Limit the booze. Although a light cocktail or beer might take the edge off for nervous travelers, one is all you may need. Free alcohol on international flights can be a hindrance to keep your balance as a pleasant seatmate.
Use baggage space responsibly. One overhead bag plus one under-seat bag equals peace and harmony for all, as well as enough storage room for everyone on the flight.
