Turkey offers more than the bustling streets of Istanbul and a wealth of historic spots. Check out some of the country’s beautiful beaches during your next visit.
Patara Beach
The longest beach in Turkey, Patara Beach stretches for 11 miles and is largely undeveloped. Enjoy the spectacular beach sunsets before the shores close for the night, allowing sea turtles to go about their business undisturbed.
Kalkan
Near Patara is Kalkan, a smaller destination, but with its perks. The beach is perfect for travelers who want a beachside feel paired with a more relaxed vibe. The village includes lots of local restaurants and cafes, but none of the tourist-driven nightlife and chains you’d find elsewhere.
Bodrum Region
The beaches lining the Bodrum Peninsula are the places to be for ultimate luxury seaside escapes in Turkey. You’ll find an array of high-end hotels to cater to your every whim. However, be warned — the area does attract a high volume of tourists.
Antalya
There are few places you can enjoy amazing mountain views while lying on the sand. Antalya is your standard Mediterranean beach town, catering to travelers with its many resorts, lively nightlife and multiple annual festivals. The view, however, makes the destination stand apart.
Ölüdeniz
You’ve probably seen this popular destination at one point or another, as it’s one of the most photographed in Turkey. Located on the shores of the Dead Sea, the most popular beach, Ölüdeniz Tabiat Parki, is also a national park.
