Top 5 / North America

Colorado is a big beer state, with popular breweries in many cities. Denver isn’t just home to great breweries, it’s also the host city of the national Great American Beer Festival. With plenty of breweries to choose from, these are some of our favorites.

Bierstadt Lagerhaus

For German-style beer enthusiasts, stop by Bierstadt Lagerhaus. Traditional lagers are most popular, but the brewery and taproom also share space with a pub and cidery.

Crooked Stave

Known for quirky, experimental brews, Crooked Stave specializes in sour ales. The brewery is located in a former ironworks, which maintains its industrial vibe.

Denver Beer Co.

The brewery-based taproom was founded on the principle that high-quality, flavorful craft beer is best shared with good company. The dog-friendly outdoor beer garden boasts a rotating schedule of food trucks, along with seasonal and year-round beers.

Great Divide Brewing Company

The award-winning brewery opened in 1994 and immediately began garnering praise for its brews. Open daily, the taproom offers 16 taps of seasonal and year-round beers. Take a tour or sample food from rotating local food trucks.

TRVE Brewing

“Beer. Heavy metal. Denver.” That’s the motto of TRVE Brewing. The heavy-metal influence is reflected in their beers (Unholy Upheaval, Cursed, Antihero Resuscitator), though the brewery and taproom maintains a laidback Denver vibe.
