Brazil is the most bio-diverse country on Earth, which is why its vast array of national parks provide some of the most epic sources of adventure for travelers. Rare wildlife, sweeping mountain vistas and striking rainforests can all be found here.

Itatiaia National Park

Itatiaia National Park is the oldest national park in Brazil and home to some of its highest peaks including Prateleiras and Agulhas Negras. During the dry season the views of the surrounding Mantiqueira mountain range are absolutely breathtaking. The park is also home to more than 350 species of birds, making it a watcher’s paradise.

Pantanal Matogrossense National Park

Pantanal Matogrossense is home to the world’s largest wetland region in the entire world, which explains why it’s also one of the most diverse. Numerous animals including jaguars, anteaters, tapirs, howler monkeys, macaws and more call the park home. The Cuiaba River serves as a watering hole for many and is a great starting point to explore.

Jericoacoara National Park

Jericoacoara has one of the most distinct landscapes of Brazil’s national parks with a dizzying array of beaches, swamps and sand dunes dotted with coconut trees to explore. It’s like a little sandy oasis full of plenty of opportunities for fantastic sporting events from sailing to sandboarding.

Aparados da Serra National Park

Aparados da Serra National Park was established in 1959 and is one of the most treasured parks in the country thanks to excellent hiking opportunities throughout its steep canyons and subtropical rainforests. Itaimbezinho Canyon contains two of the region’s largest rainfalls.

Chapada Diamantina National Park

Chapada Diamantina contains the largest waterfall in the country, Cachoeira da Fumaça, but even without this treasure it’s still one of the most beautiful regions in Brazil. Unique rock formations, abyss-like caves and sweeping mesas make for enthralling views. The park is also home to the popular Enchanted Pool, known for is strikingly blue waters.
