The weather is finally heating up in time for summer and it’s the perfect time of year to grab drinks outside with friends. Here are some of the best outdoor spots to hit up in Philadelphia.
Independence Beer Garden
Located in historic Old City across from Independence Mall, this sprawling beer garden gets packed with people on a sunny Saturday— and for good reason. The layout has three separate bars, in a garden area, a games area and a covered area, to choose from. Play corn hole with your friends or claim a picnic table and enjoy.
Sky Garten
If you’re looking for a spot with a view, head to Sky Garten on the 51st floor of 3 Logan Square, offering an authentic German biergarten selection. Enjoy sky-high sips and sweeping views of the city from this hot spot.
Assembly
Another perfect rooftop hot spot is Assembly Rooftop Lounge, situated on top of The Logan Hotel. At nine stories high, it might be the better option for those afraid of heights. Look over Logan Circle at some of Philadelphia’s greatest sights including Swan Fountain and the art museum. Grab a group of friends and stake out a fire pit and a bubbly cocktail.
Morgan’s Pier
Situated right on the Delaware River Waterfront, Morgan’s Pier is a breezy haven on a hot day. The bar and deck have picnic-style seating for 500 guests, and they keep the food and drinks flowing. Chill here during the day and stay through the night for a lively bar crowd.
Sampan/Graffiti Bar
Located through a small back alleyway behind Sampan, Graffiti Bar is a hidden urban gem. True to its name, the alleyway leading up to the bar is covered in graffiti, as well as the tables and walls. Grab a fishbowl and amazing Asian small plates at happy hour and enjoy the cozy outdoor atmosphere.
