Washington State’s ocean beaches offer something for everyone: Families looking for a relaxing day at the beach can access flat, sandy areas perfect for flying a kite, building a bonfire or splashing in the surf. And hardy travelers seeking solitude and wilderness can hike to and camp at several more removed stretches of sand.
Seabrook is a charming community with New England influences on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The town has shops, an indoor pool and adorable rental cottages.
Hobuck Beach
Hobuck Beach, which sits on the Makah reservation, is known for the waterfront cabins at Hobuck Beach Resort, surfing and tide pools
Rialto Beach is where you can take in an epic sunset amid the massive sea stacks and dramatic cliffs that are signatures of Washington’s wildest coastline. The beach sits within Olympic National Park; nearby, First Beach is also worth seeking out.
Ruby Beach, one of the few places in Olympic National Park that permits visitors to bring dogs, is also home to outstanding scenery, tide pools and dunes.
Half Moon Bay is perfect for surfing, whether you’re a beginner or expert. Or, lay out a blanket and nap in the sun. It’s also a great place to build bonfires.
