Adventure

From the Pyrenees on the French border to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Andalusia, Spain may be located in southern Europe, but the larger country of the Iberian Peninsula boasts some of the continent´s best skiing. The proximity of the two major mountain ranges to the Mediterranean Sea means you can ski in the morning and go for a dip in the water in the afternoon! See below for some of Spain´s best slopes.

Baqueria-Beret

Six peaks, 33 ski lifts and more than 4,700 acres of powder comprise Spain´s largest skiing area in the Pyrenees Mountains. Beret is more accessible for beginning to moderate skiers, while Baqueria offers more challenging thrills for moderate to advanced skiers.

Formigal

Next door to Catalonia lies the province of Aragon, where the skiing is a bit calmer and quieter. Located a few miles from the border with France, Formigal is ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers.

La Molina/Masella

Although these are two separate resorts, they are neighbors and are often combined into package deals. La Molina and Masella are perfect daytrips from Barcelona and are accessible by public transportation (train to bus).

Sierra Nevada

This mountain range in southern Spain features the country´s highest peaks and from some slopes, you can spot the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. If you´re looking to get the most out of your vacation, the location of these slopes puts you a short drive to the beach, allowing you a ski and surf holiday.
