Bike Tours in Western France
Normandy and Brittany are gorgeous regions in northwestern France. Cycle along the coast of Caen and Le Havre and breathe in the salty ocean air. There are also plenty of small coastal towns to stop and enjoy. Freedom Treks offers a six-day, self-guided journey through Normandy. It includes the famous D-Day beaches and ends in the port town of Honfleur.
Take an easy path on the Atlantic Coast on the La Flow Velo route. This bike route opened in April 2018 and is still relatively unknown to most people. It runs through Rochefort, Saintes, Cognac, Dordogne and ends near Thivieers in northern Dordogne. Make plenty of stops along this route, including a stop for the Roman ruins in Saintes.
Take a bike trip in southwest France. It’s a stunning region with several bike paths cutting through some of the most scenic views in France. This trail starts in Saint Cirq Lapopie, and stretches 100 kilometers to the village of Conques. It’s a long path, but the sites and memories are worth it. At the end of the journey, visit the relics in Conques, a major stop on the Camino de Santiago from the Middle Ages to today.
