The city of Charleston has become something of a mecca for foodies who flock to South Carolina in droves to experience the amazing culinary scene. From March 1–5, Charleston hosts its annual wine and food festival to show off just why it gained such a reputation. The main area of the festival is held in Marion Square, a park downtown, while events take place around the city and its surrounding areas.
Each event is hosted by an acclaimed expert in the field, be it farming, wine, cocktails or food. Local chefs such as Amalia Scatena and Anthony Dibernardo are involved, and the festival looks set to satisfy even the most intense cravings.
If you work in the industry or are simply interested in tasting some of the finest produce South Carolina has to offer, the Charleston Wine and Food Festival is the place to be. You’ll come away with a fully belly and a head full of inspiration for the next time you cook at home or impress your friends with an exquisite dinner party.
In March, the weather starts to warm up, with daytime temperatures that can reach 68 degrees Fahrenheit. It might not be warm enough to hit the beach, but there is plenty more to see in Charleston. Take in the historic center of town, stroll around some of the renowned art galleries and maybe even rent a bike to explore further afield. It will also help to burn off some of the calories you’ve been stuffing yourself with too!
