Chicago’s 18th annual WingFest will serve up the city’s leading restaurants’ chicken wing recipes, all competing for the coveted “Best of Fest” award.
In addition to the best chicken wings and brews Chicago has to offer, the festival supports a great cause. Proceeds from the competition benefit local and national charities through Chicago Neighbors United.
Each year, 10 judges are randomly chosen from the audience for each category. Each restaurant’s competing recipe is put to the test in a double-blind judging of the chicken wing’s appearance, aroma and taste. The judges then score each chicken wing and the points are tallied at the end when the “Best of Fest” is announced.
Chicago’s Best WingFest will be held at the UIC Pavilion, near University Village, on March 5. Tickets range from General Admission to VIP Access for $50–100 perperson.
General admission includes access to the event, entertainment and all-you-can-eat wings from some of Chicago’s best competing restaurants. The VIP Access offers the same benefits as general admission with the added bonus of access to the VIP area, five drink tickets and a VIP goodie bag from the event’s many sponsors.
Chicken wing enthusiasts can even compete in the wing eating competition and sign up early to guarantee participation. Festivalgoers will enjoy their fill of chicken wings, beer and entertainment all while providing funding for supported causes.
