Rules in Europe, on the other hand, are a lot more lenient. Here’s a list of countries around the world you can feel free to take your vino on the go.
Austria: Legal for those of legal drinking age
Brazil: Legal, DUI laws still enforced
Canada: Illegal, with exception of Quebec, where laws are more relaxed
China: Legal, alcohol may only be purchased by those 18 and up
Cuba: Legal and accepted
Czech Republic: Generally legal with the exception of some ordinances
Denmark: Legal for people of all ages, frowned upon for those under age 15
France: Legal for those of legal drinking age
Germany: Legal for those of legal drinking age, but restricted on public transport in many cities
Hong Kong: Legal for those of legal drinking age
Japan: Legal for those of legal drinking age
Laos: Legal, there are no open container laws in Laos
New Zealand: Public drinking is legal with the exception of liquor-free zones
Singapore: Drinking in public is legal, sale of alcohol is prohibited during certain hours
