We Journey wants to make your next travel experience a life-changing one, and not just because you’ll be seeing something spectacular in a far-off destination or because you’ll be doing something new and exciting, but rather because you’ll be helping someone and touching a life.
According to We Journey, “in order to create sustainable change, you must experience the problem first hand.” The brand is committed to connecting travelers with the social issues they’re passionate about, through immersive travel and totally unique experiences.
So, what can you expect from a We Journey trip? For 2018, We Journey released four itineraries thus far, one each for January and February, and two in March, headed to Mexico, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, respectively. Each is centered on an extreme school makeover, and lasts around a week.
However, these trips hardly start and end with a mission trip-like school rebuild, where you show up, get your hands dirty for a few days, then leave. For example, a large part of the Mexico trip is spent at a spiritual retreat center, where guests enjoy a chakra therapy pool, meditation labyrinth and temezcall ceremonies, all with the goal of connecting with fellow travelers for the purpose of self growth and exploration.
In Costa Rica, the experience is similar. Several days are spent refurbishing a local school, and then the rest of the time is spent at a wellness center in the jungle, where each individual enjoys a tailored experience filled with workshops, yoga, daytrips and spa services.
With We Journey, travelers make an impact, but also stop, slow down and are impacted by what’s going on around them. More than just a mission trip, We Journey ensures a lasting benefit for everyone involved.
