New Orleans hosts many annual LGBTQ events and festivals including Gay Mardi Gras, New Orleans Pride, Southern Decadence, Saints & Sinners Literary Festival and special events on Easter and Halloween. The newly reopened LGBT Community Center of New Orleans is a local organization serving the local LGBTQ community. The Forum for Equality advocates for policy change, organizes initiatives and educates the community on the issues in the LGBTQ community.
