New York’s Times Square is famous for its bright lights and endless entertainment, and now it will add a new indoor entertainment center themed around shows and films like Mad Men and the Hunger Games.
Lionsgate film studio will open the center to show off some of its famous films and shows in 2019. One highlight promises a Mad Men-themed dinner and lounge experience, involving “a night on the town inspired by the show’s 1960s décor and decadence.”
Fans can also try out a Hunger Games-inspired flying simulator and take part in a rescue mission in the Capitol, or head to a 4D film and live show experience.
The studio will also include restaurants and cafes themed after places in their favorite shows, like Peeta’s Bakery and the Capitol Confectionary. Party rooms and private events will be available along with customizable themes involving movies and TV shows.
Lionsgate is preparing to open several other attractions around the world, with the Times Square center being the first of several planned for “high traffic urban areas” in the United States and Europe. For example, the company will launch an outdoor theme park featuring Hunger Games and Twilight attractions called Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Island in South Korea.
