Ruaha Safari in Tanzania

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park, but the remoteness of the region makes it hard to access and, thus, it sees far fewer tourists than the neighboring Selous Game Reserve. The lack of tourists might be a huge drawing point for some travelers and the park itself contains just as many wonderful native species, making it the perfect place for a safari.

During the high season you’ll find lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and buffalo roaming the landscape. While there are no boating safaris operating within the park, there are plenty of options for walking, driving and flying safaris to choose from. With nearly a dozen different camps running safaris in the park, there’s something for every type of adventurer. The only downside is there are currently no night safaris in Ruaha, though what could you really see at night anyway?
