These days it is increasingly possible to work remotely in a number of industries. From web designers to freelance writers, so-called digital nomads are able to take their lives and offices on the road. If this sounds like your dream life, what are the skills you should think about learning?

Digital nomads can work in any industry in which remote work is the norm. As mentioned previously, web designers and coders are easily able to work without a fixed office space. To become a web designer, you will need to learn how to use Photoshop and Dreamweaver, while coding requires strong knowledge of the main coding languages such as Python and C++.

Another of the more common occupations of digital nomads is freelance writing. Given that many publications and websites accept pitches from freelancers all over the world, you can submit work from anywhere you want.

Social media management is also a popular industry for remote workers. Looking after Twitter, Instagram or Facebook profiles for clients requires only an internet connection, so you won’t have to be tied to an office.

Graphic designers are also well suited for the digital nomad life, as are photographers and videographers. If you have an eye for organization, you might want to work as a virtual assistant, or those with language skills could become translators.
