Experience beautiful display gardens at Russian River Rose Garden. Located north of San Francisco in Healdsburg, Calif., the garden and nursery is home to more than 600 varieties of roses and 125 varieties of irises.
The garden and nursery are open to the public during April and May on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. In the fall, the garden is open on select Sundays from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Private appointments are available upon request. Garden tours are available during the spring months for groups at $4.50 per person. Pick up a self-guided tour map for $2 if you’d prefer exploring the grounds on your own. Special events run throughout the spring and fall, including demonstrations, high tea and Mother’s Day programming.
The garden began in 1982 and continues to grow. The owners use minimal sprays on the flowers and never use pesticides. Visitors will find solar panels on the property. It’s a green experience.
Take a little bit of the Russian River Rose Company home with you and purchase rose water and rose oil, both produced on site. The rose water can be used for beauty or food purposes and contains the oil from about 130 roses in each bottle.
