Study Shows Millennials Love Business Travel

While some view business travel as a drag, studies show millennials see work travel as a major perk. A new study by Hilton Hotels & Resorts found 75 percent of young professionals in the United States view it as such, with 65 percent viewing business travel as a status symbol.

The study looked at business travelers aged 23-35. It found more than half create reasons in their job for more travel. Thirty-nine percent say they wouldn’t even take a job if it didn’t offer business travel. Eight-one percent say they’ve made friends while traveling for work.

However, it’s not all fun and games. More than half say they’ve gained weight thanks to business travel and almost half don’t quite understand their company’s expense policy. Thirty-eight percent feel stress leading up to a business trip and 36 percent are stressed when packing for a business trip. Sixty-nine percent wish to enjoy some “bleisure” travel and extend their business trip, but about half worry it’ll make them look bad to senior leadership.
