Trends / Adventure

When the temperature begins to rise, nothing sounds quite as nice as dipping into a pool or visiting the beach, but other activities can offer just as much of a cool down.

Kayaking, be it through a swamp or in a river, offers a great way to stay active and on the water without ever actually needing to get too wet. The toughest part about kayaking will likely be finding a cool place to kayak and transporting your vessel to the water.

The good news is, most of the time, it will be easy for you to find tour groups to join. In these situations, the guiding organization will likely provide the necessary equipment for you to get started right away.

Finding a tour organization with guides is especially important if you plan to kayak in unfamiliar areas, like cypress swamps or rivers you do not have a ton of experience with.

Finding a quality tour organization and guide can make all of the difference between having the time of your life on the water and wishing you never made the attempt at all. Local organizations, like Lighthouse Watersports, give adventurers a great tour, while pointing out all of the indigenous wildlife. Adding a tour to a road trip is always an option as well.

Finding a local tour group can be as simple as a quick Google search. Partaking in one of these tours during the summer months can be an awesome adventure and allow you to experience a body of water in a whole new way.
