This summer, fans of the hit television show Game of Thrones are able to pop into a local pub and feel like they are part of Westeros. A GoT-themed bar temporarily opened in D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood to celebrate the show’s upcoming seventh season.

The Game of Thrones PUB features nearly 3,000 square feet of space formerly occupied by three separate establishments. Each room will mimic a scene from various regions on the show, like the North, the Red Keep, the House of Black and White, and even a Throne Room complete with a replica of the Iron Throne.

Cocktails and music help set the scene in their own way. Sip on bevs like The Lannisters Send Their Regards or What is Dead May Never Die while the epic soundtrack plays in the background. One of the bar’s sponsors, Ommegang Brewery, will serve its official GoT beer, Bend the Knee.

The pop-up bar opened June 21, three weeks before the season 7 premiere, and will remain open until Aug. 27. Open seven days a week, the bar closes early on Sunday so fans and staff can make it home in time to watch the Sunday night show.

The pub staff encourage guests to come in costume, if so inclined, but all weaponry must be left at the door.

How to Explore Neuschwanstein Castle

Most people know Neuschwanstein Castle as Walt Disney’s inspiration for both Cinderella’s and Sleeping Beauty’s castles, but it is also filled with history and stories from German royalty. In 1868, King Ludwig II began construction of the medieval-style castle to live in. Sadly, it wasn’t finished before he died, so the king never got to see the finished product. Today, the castle is privately owned, but travelers can still explore it on a guided audio tour.
