Looking for adventure this winter? British Columbia’s Big White Ski Resort, outside of Kelowna, has you covered with a variety of activities designed to thrill entry-level participants and seasoned pros alike.
As a family-friendly resort, Big White welcomes with an accessible atmosphere — whether you’re coming with kids in tow or not. In addition to 118 ski runs and 15 ski lifts, visitors can try activities like snowmobiling, ice climbing, dog sledding, snow tubing and more. These options are perfect for breaks from the slopes, or to entertain visitors who can’t or don’t ski or snowboard. There’s truly something for everyone here.
Your day might start with a few runs on the slopes or ski lessons. After lunch, there’s plenty of time for more skiing, or for resting your knees on a guided dog sledding tour or snowmobiling to a frozen waterfall — there are even smaller snowmobiles for kids. A tubing hill provides additional thrills for families and groups of adults. End your day with a charming ride on a horse-drawn sleigh to a rustic cabin for dinner.
Save time to try a new sport in ice climbing at the frozen tower; expert guides work the belay ropes and coach you through an ascent of the 60-foot wall. Ice skating, snowshoe tours, backcountry fat biking and wine tours of the renowned Okanagan region are also on tap. Adventurers can even heliski on private tours that give you exclusive access to a helicopter for pristine backcountry powder.
