The City of Brotherly Love is getting ready to welcome more visitors. Philadelphia has several brand-new properties set to open in 2018 and 2019.
Three properties are set to debut in fall 2018. ROOST Apartment Hotel is an extended-stay property with studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and penthouse units. Lokal Fishtown is a boutique hotel with an “invisible service” model, featuring a customized concierge without a front desk or typical hotel amenities. Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia will call the new, 60-story Comcast Technology Center building its home. Guests will find the hotel lobby on the building’s top floor.
Four properties aim for 2019 openings. MainStay Suites/Ascend Hotel Collection is set to open in Chinatown in early 2019. Dual properties W Philadelphia and Element Philadelphia will feature 750 rooms total in the 52-story building set to open in summer 2019. Pod Philly will operate on the micro-hotel model. The 11-story building will open near Rittenhouse Square in September 2019. Hyatt Place Philadelphia Airport will open near the city’s international airport in late 2019.
In addition to the new properties, some of the city’s mainstays have recent and planned renovations. Le Méridien Philadelphia, The Rittenhouse and Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown Hotel completed multimillion dollar renovations in spring 2018. Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown/Autograph and Sheraton Society Hill have renovations in the works for 2019.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal.
