It has been said Montreal is a food town. And why wouldn’t it be? It has everything else going for it: arts, culture, nature and some lovely architecture. If you find yourself in Montreal, your biggest problem might be deciding what to eat first. If it is, there are some pretty simple rules to follow: Eat everything and anything.
The city has amazing choices from sushi to pizza. Every neighborhood has something to offer, but the top three might be Plateau Mont-Royal, Old Montreal and Little Burgundy. You can get everything you crave and more.
In the neighborhood of Plateau, check out the murals and parks after grabbing a coffee at Replika. The mix of cultures in this neighborhood will get you an affordable meal anywhere from a Jewish deli to a Portugese wine bar. Try some of the best Venezualan food in the city at Arepera or, for breakfast, the croissants at Les Co’Pains d’abord.
In Old Montreal, try the restaurant Ha for Vietnamese and in Little Burgundy don’t leave before eating at Joe Beef — pricey, over the top and worth it.
