Trends / Top Trends

Looking for a job or trying to leave your current position for greener pastures involves a fair amount of work and not a little stress. Millennials are more adventurous than previous generations when it comes to long-term job security or the lack of it. Some of this is inevitably born of necessity with the realities of changing job markets and a poor economy. According to a Gallup poll, millennials are approximately three times as likely to change jobs over the course of a year than their non-millennial counterparts. This is not necessarily a sign of fickleness, but an understanding of the fluid nature of work and workplaces.

In order to match this trend, job sites improved their ability to cater to the pace of today’s job search. ZipRecruiter is one such resource. This is a marketplace in which job seekers and job recruiters are able to find, compare and apply for jobs. The added bonus for job seekers is the fact ZipRecruiter recommends jobs to you, tells you when your application has been viewed and reports back when the job you applied for closes. This process makes an effort to remove the feeling of being completely in the dark during such an already arduous process.

One convenience that does not always hold true is that of the “one-click apply.” Many jobs actually still require you to go to their website and fill out their lengthy applications. This is an appealing aspect of the system that does not always deliver. Nonetheless, the communication offered through the site is well worth it.

What to Do During a Trip to Morro Bay, California

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.
