Spend the afternoon touring Independence Brewing Co. The craft brewery has an industrial tasting room for new and classic beers, along with live music. Sip on year-round beers like Stash IPA, an Indian pale ale or the seasonal Cucumber Redbud, a Berliner Weisse. The tap room is open Thursday and Friday, 4–10 p.m., Saturdays 1–10 p.m. and Sundays 2–8 p.m.

For dinner, check out Velvet Taco serving up its funky taco varieties with late-night hours. Round out a meal with sides, margaritas and velvet cake or get the Backdoor Chicken to go. Simply knock on the back door and ask for the $20 special and get a whole, slow-roasted, rotisserie chicken, tortillas and two sides of elote-style corn with cream, homemade sauce and fresh pico de gallo.
